In the Quran, all the derivatives of the word “ghafr” (forgive) are mentioned 234 times. And all of the derivatives of the word “ceza” (pay), which is used both for retribution and reward, are mentioned 117 times, which is exactly half the number of times that “forgive” is used. Below are two verses in which these words are used:
28- My Lord, forgive me and my parents and anyone who enters my home
as a believer, and all the believing men and women.
