The earth’s revolution around the sun takes 365 days, while the moon’s 12 revolutions around the earth takes 12 months. The Quran says that there are 12 months in a year. On the other hand, in the Quran, the word “a month” (shehr) is also mentioned 12 times. The following verse mentions that there are 12 months in a year:
